Passion.io Pricing in 2026: $119 to Start, $599 a Month for the App Store

by Welly Mulia - September 27, 2026

Billed yearly, Passion.io pricing comes to $119 a month for Launch, $279 for Scale and $599 for Expand. Month to month, they cost $149, $349 and $699, and Passion Plus is priced on request. Passion also keeps a cut of each sale through its checkout, PassionPayments: 3.9% on Launch, down to 1.9% on Plus.

Those figures replace the $99 Launch and $239 Scale prices that Google’s AI Overview, Passion.io’s own blog guides and most review sites still show. Stripe’s card fee of 2.9% plus 30 cents comes on top of Passion’s cut. A listing in the App Store and Google Play starts on Expand, and Apple adds a $99 yearly developer fee while Google charges $25 once.

What you pay Passion.io each month depends on 3 things: how many members you have, how they pay you, and whether you need your own listing in the App Store.

Most of the Passion.io numbers you will find online are also out of date, including the ones on Passion’s own blog. Budget from those and you start $240 a year short on Launch before a single sale.

This guide prices every plan both ways, shows the cut on each sale, works through 3 real membership sizes, and explains when you get your own App Store app and what happens to your members if you cancel.

Key Takeaways

  • Current prices: Launch costs $119, Scale $279 and Expand $599 a month billed yearly, or $149, $349 and $699 paid month to month.
  • A cut on every sale: PassionPayments takes 3.9% on Launch down to 1.9% on Plus, before Stripe’s 2.9% plus 30 cents.
  • Store listing: Launch and Scale give members a web app they save to their home screen. Your own App Store and Google Play listing starts on Expand.
  • User caps decide your plan: Launch allows 250 users and Scale 1,000, and at $29 a member you hit each cap before a fee saving justifies moving up.
  • No free trial: you pay from day one with a 30-day refund window, and your members keep being charged after you cancel unless you stop them.

Passion.io pricing, plan by plan

Passion.io sells 3 self-serve plans, Launch, Scale and Expand, plus a done-for-you Passion Plus tier priced on request. The yearly plans are billed once a year but shown as a monthly rate, so the yearly totals below are that rate times 12. The pricing page’s Annual toggle promises “Save 20%”, which holds for Launch and Scale, while Expand saves 14% ($599 against $699).

Choosing the plan is the easy half. If you are still working out what to charge the members inside your app, the free Online Selling Mistakes Challenge walks through the pricing and checkout mistakes that cost solo sellers the most, 1 short email a day.

Passion.io’s yearly plans run from $1,428 a year on Launch to $7,188 on Expand, and the cut on each PassionPayments sale drops from 3.9% to 1.9% as you move up.

Passion’s pricing page says every plan includes “your own branded app and a context-aware AI coach”, though Launch keeps Passion’s branding on the app. What changes as you climb is the number of users, videos and products, who handles the app store, and how much of each sale Passion keeps. The Passion.io pricing page carries the full comparison behind a “Compare plan features” button.

Why most pages still say Launch is $99

Passion.io’s Launch plan cost $99 a month on yearly billing until recently, and nearly every source that ranks for this search still says so. An archived copy of the pricing page from July 2026, saved by the Wayback Machine, shows Launch at $99, Scale at $239 and Expand at $599, with $119, $299 and $699 month to month. Copies from March and May 2026 show the same 3 prices.

Launch now costs $240 more a year than the widely quoted $99 rate, Scale costs $480 more, and Expand has not moved.

PlanWidely quotedPricing page nowExtra per year
Launch$99 yearly, $119 monthly$119 yearly, $149 monthly$240 yearly, $360 monthly
Scale$239 yearly, $299 monthly$279 yearly, $349 monthly$480 yearly, $600 monthly
Expand$599 yearly, $699 monthly$599 yearly, $699 monthly$0

The old price shows up across page 1. Google’s AI Overview for “passion io pricing” quotes it.

So do the 2 Passion.io blog guides that rank on page 1, and its “Create an App Without Coding” page at passion.io/create-an-app, which says its pricing was re-verified in July 2026 and still reads “Plans from $99 /mo annual”. All 3 independent review sites on page 1 quote $99 as the starting price too, and one of them uses plan names that do not appear on Passion’s pricing page at all.

Google results for passion io pricing: the AI Overview and Passion's own blog say $99 and $239, while the pricing page result shows $119 and $279
Google’s results for this search. The AI Overview and Passion’s own blog say $99 and $239. The pricing page result underneath says $119 and $279.

If you budgeted from any of those, add $20 a month to Launch and $40 a month to Scale.

The cut Passion.io takes on every sale

Passion.io charges a platform fee on every payment that goes through PassionPayments, its built-in checkout: 3.9% on Launch, 2.7% on Scale, 2.0% on Expand and 1.9% on Passion Plus. The rates come from the plan comparison on the pricing page and its FAQ, which says PassionPayment fees “scale down with your plan”.

Card processing is separate. PassionPayments connects to your own Stripe account, and Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per successful domestic card payment in the US, according to Stripe’s pricing page. So on Launch, a $29 monthly membership loses $1.13 to Passion and $1.14 to Stripe, and you keep $26.73.

Passion’s help center still lists the flat 3.9% in its PassionPayments setup guide, with the total written as “6.8% + $0.30 per transaction”. That is the Launch rate. The lower rates on Scale, Expand and Plus only show up on the pricing page.

There are 2 other ways members can pay you, and neither is open to everyone:

  • An outside checkout. Launch cannot use one. Scale and above can connect a separate checkout through Zapier, and Passion’s payments guide names ThriveCart and SamCart as examples, with fees that “vary depending on the checkout platform.”
  • In-app purchases. These need a store listing, so Expand or Plus. The same guide says Apple and Google take a 30% commission, or 15% if you qualify for their reduced-fee programs, and pay out on their own schedule, usually 15 to 45 days.

What you get on each Passion.io plan

Each Passion.io plan raises the limits on users, videos and products, and the move from Scale to Expand is where the phone features arrive.

Launch caps you at 250 users and 25 videos with Passion’s branding on the app, Scale lifts that to 1,000 users and 100 videos under your own brand, and Expand is the first plan with a store listing and push notifications.

LimitLaunchScaleExpand
Total users2501,000Unlimited
Videos25100Unlimited
Products310Unlimited
Your own brandingNoYesYes
Outside checkoutNoYesYes
App Store listingNoNoYes
Push notificationsNoNoUnlimited

2 rows here have changed without much notice. Passion’s October 2025 blog post “How much does Passion.io cost?” describes Launch as 100 subscribers and 100 videos, while the live table says 250 users and 25 videos.

Archived copies of the pricing page from earlier in 2026 also listed an allowance of 25 paying customers on Launch and 100 on Scale, with $1.99 for each paying customer beyond it. That row is no longer in the live comparison table.

Push notifications are one of the main reasons to put members in an app at all, and on Passion.io they start at $599 a month.

When you get your own app in the App Store

Your own listing in Apple’s App Store and Google Play starts on Passion.io’s Expand plan, $599 a month billed yearly. The pricing page FAQ puts it plainly: “On Scale and above your app carries your own branding, and from Expand you get a real App Store and Google Play listing under your name.”

On Launch and Scale, members use a web app instead. Passion’s web app guide explains that each app lives at its own passion.io address, and members open it in Safari or Chrome and add it to their home screen, where it shows your icon. Changes go live instantly with no store review, and sales through the web app avoid the 15% to 30% store commission.

Getting into the stores costs more than the plan:

  • Expand itself: $7,188 a year billed yearly, or $8,388 month to month.
  • Apple: the Apple Developer Program is 99 USD per membership year, per Apple’s enrollment page.
  • Google: a US$25 one-time registration fee for a Play developer account, per Google’s Play Console help.

That puts year 1 of a store-listed Passion app at $7,312 on yearly billing, before a single member pays. Expand includes a guidance call for the store submission. On Passion Plus, Passion submits the app for you.

For comparison, Kajabi’s pricing puts a branded mobile app on its Pro plan, which is $399 a month billed yearly or $499 month to month.

What Passion.io costs at 3 membership sizes

At a $29 monthly membership, Passion.io costs about $346 a month for 100 members, $1,049 for 400 members and $3,181 for 1,500, once the plan, Passion’s cut and Stripe’s fee are added together.

The total falls from 11.9% of revenue at 100 members to 7.3% at 1,500, and each step up happens because the user cap is reached.

MembersRevenue a monthPlan neededPaid to PassionPaid to StripeTotal a month
100$2,900Launch$232.10$114.10$346.20
400$11,600Scale$592.20$456.40$1,048.60
1,500$43,500Expand$1,469.00$1,711.50$3,180.50

The table assumes every user is a paying member, the yearly plan rate, and every payment going through PassionPayments. “Paid to Passion” is the plan fee plus Passion’s cut.

The caps decide your plan long before the fees do.

Moving from Launch to Scale costs $160 more a month and saves 1.2% of revenue, so the lower fee only pays for itself above about $13,333 a month. At $29 a member, Launch’s 250-user cap stops you at $7,250. Scale to Expand works the same way: the fee saving covers the $320 gap above about $45,714 a month, and Scale’s 1,000 users at $29 top out at $29,000.

The Stripe column is what any card checkout pays. The Passion column is the part that changes by platform, and it is where a checkout with no per-sale cut, such as CartMango, which I run, would pay nothing beyond the plan. That comparison only holds if your members do not need an app, which is the main thing Passion sells.

Free trial, refunds and cancelling Passion.io

Passion.io has no free trial. You pay for your plan from the first day, and Passion’s “How much does Passion.io cost?” post frames this as full access “unlike ‘free trials’ that lock core features”.

The safety net is a 30-day money-back guarantee: cancel within your first 30 days and you are eligible for a full refund.

You can cancel online. According to Passion’s cancellation guide, you open your account menu, choose Subscription, click Manage billing, and cancel inside Stripe’s billing portal. Access ends at the close of your current billing period.

Most pricing guides skip what happens next:

  • Your members keep paying. PassionPayments bills members through the Stripe account you connected, and the help center is blunt about it: “It is your responsibility to cancel all existing subscriptions from your End Users.” Otherwise, it says, they keep getting charged.
  • Your store listings come down. The same cancellation guide says Passion’s App Submissions team unpublishes your App Store and Google Play listings when the plan ends.
  • Your content is deleted. According to that guide, Passion deletes content and data “usually 3-6 months” after you cancel, and says it cannot guarantee anything is kept past 3 months.
  • Downgrading has a cost too. Passion’s “How much does Passion.io cost?” blog post says that dropping to a plan without native app support removes your iOS and Android apps from the stores, while the web app stays up.

Getting your material out is the step to plan for. A creator who left in 2023 described it on Trustpilot: “when cancelling, they don’t allow you to download your own trainings. I had 90% organized on my desktop but taking me days to somehow locate or recreate the remaining 10%”.

Keep your own copy of every video and PDF from the start, and export your member list before you cancel.

Is Passion.io worth the price?

Passion.io is worth its price for a coach whose members open a phone app every day, and it is expensive for anyone who mainly sells a course, a program or a download. The success stories on its pricing page are coaching businesses that members come back to often: a fitness membership, drum lessons, aerial and calisthenics coaching.

Reviews are mostly positive. Passion.io holds a TrustScore of 4.3 on Trustpilot across 1,816 reviews, and its own pricing page says 1,091 of its 1,672 positive reviews praise the support and training team.

The price question comes down to 2 features:

  • Do members need the app on their phone every day? If yes, the lock-screen notifications and store listing are worth paying for, and both start on Expand.
  • Do you only need to deliver content and take payment? Then Launch and Scale sell you a web app, which is a website saved to the home screen, at $1,428 to $3,348 a year plus a cut of every sale.

For the second group, a course platform or a plain checkout usually costs less. Our guide to the best course platform compares 6 of them on what each keeps per sale.

Cheaper ways to sell if you do not need an app

If your members do not need a phone app, you have 3 other routes, and the right one depends on what you deliver.

  • A course platform if you teach through lessons. Our breakdowns of Kajabi pricing and Skool pricing cover what each charges per plan and per sale.
  • A community platform if members come for each other. Our Mighty Networks pricing breakdown covers a community-first platform plan by plan.
  • A checkout if you deliver on Zoom, by email or in files and only need to take the payment. CartMango, the checkout platform I run, costs nothing until October 2026 and then $10, $20 or $30 a year, with no cut of your sales on any plan. Every CartMango plan sells one-time products and subscriptions, Mini Pages hosts the sales page, and if you leave, the subscriptions you created keep paying you.

CartMango does not build a phone app, and it does not host courses or a community yet. Course hosting and community are planned for October 2026 on the $30 a year Platinum plan. If your members need an app today, Passion.io or Kajabi’s Pro plan is the more honest answer.

FAQ

How much does Passion.io cost per month?

Passion.io costs $119 a month for Launch, $279 for Scale and $599 for Expand on yearly billing, or $149, $349 and $699 month to month. Passion Plus is priced on request. On top of the plan, PassionPayments keeps 1.9% to 3.9% of each sale depending on the plan, and Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per card payment.

Does Passion.io have a free trial?

No. Passion.io charges from the first day of your plan and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee instead. Cancel within the first 30 days and you qualify for a full refund, according to Passion’s cancellation guide. Budget for the Apple and Google developer fees separately, since you pay those directly to Apple and Google.

Can I cancel my Passion.io subscription online?

Yes. Open your account menu, choose Subscription, click Manage billing, then cancel in Stripe’s billing portal. Your access runs to the end of the billing period. Cancel your members’ subscriptions yourself as well, because Passion’s help center says they keep getting charged otherwise, and download your content first, since Passion deletes it within about 3 to 6 months.

Does Passion.io take a percentage of my sales?

Yes, on sales through PassionPayments. The cut is 3.9% on Launch, 2.7% on Scale, 2.0% on Expand and 1.9% on Passion Plus, and Stripe’s 2.9% plus 30 cents is added on top. Sales made through Apple or Google in-app purchases pay the store’s 15% to 30% commission instead.

Is Passion.io any good?

For coaches who want members inside a phone app every day, Passion.io is well reviewed, with a TrustScore of 4.3 from 1,816 Trustpilot reviews, much of the praise aimed at support and onboarding. The weak spots are cost at the low end and the exit: push notifications and a store listing wait until the $599 Expand plan, and cancelling means handling your members’ subscriptions yourself.

If the app is not the point

Passion.io pricing makes sense when members live inside your app. When they do not, most of what you pay for is the app, and the cut on each sale keeps growing with your revenue.

If what you need is a way to take the payment and keep every subscription yours, CartMango does that with no cut of each sale. CartMango costs nothing during the beta and then starts at $10 a year.
