MemberSpace Pricing in 2026: $24 or $99 a Month, Plus a Cut of Every Payment

by Welly Mulia - September 30, 2026

On current MemberSpace pricing, you pay $24 a month on Starter or $99 a month on Growth, billed once a year, plus 5% or 2% of every member payment. The pricing page shows Starter’s $24 against a crossed-out $39. A custom plan cuts the fee to 1%, priced on a call.

Stripe’s card fee of 2.9% plus 30 cents per US card payment comes on top of every plan. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial with no card needed. The page shows no monthly option for Starter and no monthly price for Growth. The 2 plans cost the same at about $30,000 a year of member payments.

At 100 members paying $25 a month, Starter’s 5% cut comes to $1,500 a year. The plan itself is $288. So the price on the pricing card is the smaller part of your bill.

The price also changes depending on where you read it. Google’s first page shows a $0 plan, a flat $25, and tiers at $29, $49 and $199. MemberSpace’s own site gives its starting price as $24, a crossed-out $39 and, on another page, $16.50.

Below: what each plan costs today, what the cut adds up to at 4 revenue levels and what Stripe takes on top. After that comes the Squarespace math most MemberSpace sellers skip, and what happens to your members if you leave.

Key Takeaways

  • Starter is $24 a month, billed yearly, plus 5%. The pricing page shows it next to a crossed-out $39 and never says how long the lower price lasts.
  • Growth is $99 a month, billed yearly, plus 2%. It adds unlimited member spaces, 3 website connections and Admin API access, which is still in beta.
  • The 2 plans break even at about $30,000 a year. That is at Starter’s $24 price. If Starter goes back to $39, the break-even drops to $24,000.
  • Cancelling MemberSpace does not stop your members’ payments. Its help docs say cancelling cancels neither member subscriptions nor transaction fees, so you end them in Stripe yourself.
  • On Squarespace, the built-in member sites can cost less. At $30,000 a year, Squarespace Plus costs $888 in plan and platform fees against $2,016 for Squarespace Basic plus MemberSpace Starter.

What MemberSpace costs on each plan

MemberSpace sells 2 plans you can buy yourself: Starter at $24 a month and Growth at $99 a month, both billed once a year. Its pricing page adds a custom plan you book a call for, and there is no free tier.

Pricing MemberSpace is the easy half of the job. Pricing the membership you sell through it is where solo sellers lose real money, and 5 of the most common mistakes there are covered in the Online Selling Mistakes Challenge, a free 5-day email series.

Starter costs $24 a month and takes 5% of every member payment, Growth costs $99 a month and takes 2%, and the custom plan takes 1% at a price MemberSpace does not publish.

MemberSpace’s pricing page. Read the 2 prices at the top of each card and the “billed annually” line under them.

A “space” is MemberSpace’s word for a members-only area. The tooltip on the pricing page says a space can hold “community, premium content, and courses”, with search, bookmarks and new-content alerts for members. Starter gives you 5 of them. Growth has no limit.

Both plans include unlimited members, unlimited pricing tiers and what MemberSpace calls “40+ more features”, among them coupons, free trials for your members, signup fees and abandoned signup reminders. Growth also lists Admin API access in beta and “AI insights”, which is marked coming soon.

$24 or $39: which Starter price to plan around

The $24 Starter price carries a “38% off” badge and sits beside a crossed-out $39.

MemberSpace does not say whether $24 is a first-year price, a limited offer or the new normal, and it does not print a yearly total.

12 months at $24 is $288. At $39 it is $468.

None of the third-party pages ranking for this search mention the discount. A May 2026 copy of the pricing page on the Internet Archive listed Starter at $39 billed annually, with no badge, next to a note reading “Annual pricing (save 20%)”. A fresh copy saved from a US connection shows the same $24, so it is not a price shown only in some countries.

MemberSpace’s own site does not agree with itself either. Its page comparing MemberSpace with Squarespace says MemberSpace costs “$16.50 to $99/mo”, a Starter figure that appears nowhere on its pricing page. Budget with $39 until MemberSpace says how long the $24 lasts. That is how our membership site platform comparison priced MemberSpace, and the cost tables below show both numbers so you can see what the discount is worth.

Paying monthly instead of yearly

The current pricing page shows no monthly option for Starter at all. Under Growth there is a “Pay monthly instead” link, but no monthly price is printed anywhere on the page.

The May 2026 version of the page did print them: $49 a month for Starter and $125 a month for Growth, billed monthly. Neither number appears on today’s page, so ask MemberSpace for the current monthly rate before you pick that route.

The custom plan at 1%

The custom plan takes 1% of each member payment, and MemberSpace prints no price for it. It sits in a box headed “Need a lower fee or custom setup?” below the 2 plan cards, which also lists custom reporting, developer assistance, more website connections and prioritized feature requests beside a “Book a quick call” button. The May 2026 page called the same tier Unlimited and priced it “Let’s talk”.

What the 5% or 2% cut adds up to in a year

On Starter, MemberSpace’s cut costs you more than the plan fee once your member payments pass $5,760 a year, which is roughly 20 members paying $25 a month. On Growth that point comes at $59,400.

At $30,000 a year of member payments, Starter and Growth both cost $1,788 at Starter’s $24 price, and Growth is $180 cheaper if Starter goes back to $39.

Members at $25/moPayments a yearStarter at $24Starter at $39Growth
20$6,000$588$768$1,308
40$12,000$888$1,068$1,428
100$30,000$1,788$1,968$1,788
200$60,000$3,288$3,468$2,388

Each cell is the yearly plan fee plus the cut on that much member money, and nothing else. Stripe comes next.

The break-even between the plans moves with Starter’s price. At $24 a month, Starter and Growth cost the same at $30,000 a year of member payments. At $39, they meet at $24,000, which is the figure in our membership platform comparison.

Below the line, Starter is cheaper. Above it, Growth is.

Growth can also win before the money does. A 6th members-only area or a 2nd website needs Growth, whatever your revenue.

The cut has moved before, too.

In a December 2023 review on G2, a MemberSpace customer wrote that “Memberspace continues to raise the transaction fee. It’s increased from 1% to 4%, to a NOW A 5% TRANSACTION FEE on top of Stripe’s fee.” A 2022 review still ranking for this search lists 4%, 3% and 1% tiers, which fits that account of a 4% fee before today’s 5%.

What Stripe takes on top of MemberSpace

Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents for every successful US card payment, according to Stripe’s own pricing page, and MemberSpace’s fee sits on top of that. The tooltip beside each plan’s percentage says so directly: the fee “does not include Stripe’s processing fees.”

On a single $25 member payment, that works out like this:

  • Starter: Stripe takes about $1.03, MemberSpace takes $1.25, you keep about $22.72.
  • Growth: Stripe takes about $1.03, MemberSpace takes $0.50, you keep about $23.47.

Over a year, 2.9% of your member payments plus 30 cents per payment comes to $246 in Stripe fees at 20 members, $492 at 40, $1,230 at 100 and $2,460 at 200. Add that to the table above for your all-in cost. At 100 members on Starter’s $24 price, the total is $3,018.

The 30 cents hurts most on small payments. A $5 monthly newsletter loses $0.45 to Stripe and $0.25 to MemberSpace’s 5%, which is 14% of the payment gone before you see it.

Refunds cost you Stripe’s share for good. MemberSpace’s Stripe help article says that when you refund a member, “MemberSpace will refund any transaction fees paid to us, but Stripe does not refund their fees.”

One more line to check in your own Stripe account. MemberSpace builds each recurring plan inside your Stripe account, and Stripe lists a separate charge of 0.7% of volume for Stripe Billing, its subscription engine, on its Billing pricing page. Look for it on your Stripe invoice before you budget, so you know whether it applies to your account.

Is there a MemberSpace free plan?

No. MemberSpace has no free plan, only a free trial, which the pricing page puts at 7 days with no credit card needed.

The trial used to be longer. The May 2026 pricing page labelled Starter’s button “Use free for 14 days”, and MemberSpace’s help article on migrating members still says migration “is not available while on our 14 day free trial.” Go by the pricing page for the length, and note the other half of that sentence: moving existing members into MemberSpace only works on a paid plan.

The free plan you may have seen elsewhere does not match the pricing page. Capterra’s MemberSpace pricing page shows a $0 Startup plan, which the section on page 1 results further down covers.

There is 1 standing discount. MemberSpace’s help center says a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit gets “a 10% lifetime discount” on its account, applied after you email proof of status.

What happens to your members if you cancel MemberSpace

Your members keep getting charged. MemberSpace says so in its Stripe help article:

If you ever decide to cancel your MemberSpace subscription, please keep in mind that any members you have on recurring or multiple payment plans will continue to be charged via your Stripe account. Canceling your MemberSpace account does not cancel any member subscriptions or transaction fees. You’ll have to log into your Stripe account and manually cancel any subscriptions you don’t want.

That is mostly good news. The subscriptions live in your own Stripe account, so leaving MemberSpace does not wipe out your recurring income.

Not every platform works that way. Podia cancels every subscription when you close your account, as our recurring billing software guide sets out, while MemberSpace and CartMango, the checkout I run, leave them billing.

Read the second sentence again, though.

It says cancelling does not cancel transaction fees either, and the article does not say when they stop. Ask MemberSpace support before you cancel, and check your Stripe payouts in the months after.

Moving to another tool takes planning too. The same article says a Stripe account “can only be connected to a single platform at a time for accepting payments”. Before you can disconnect Stripe, it says, you must cancel and delete any members on a paid plan and then delete your paid plans.

Why the MemberSpace pricing on page 1 does not match the pricing page

Most pages ranking for this search quote price lists MemberSpace no longer sells, some of them years out of date.

Of the 6 places below that quote a MemberSpace price, only Join It, a rival membership tool, lists the plans MemberSpace sells today, and even it leaves out Starter’s $24.

Capterra’s page is the one to watch, because its title promises 2026 pricing. It lists a “Startup” plan at $0.00 a month and a “Professional” plan at $49, says MemberSpace has a “Free version”, marks the free trial as “Not available” and never mentions a transaction fee. Every one of those details is wrong on today’s pricing page.

Capterra’s MemberSpace pricing page. Neither the $0.00 Startup plan nor the $49.00 Professional plan exists on MemberSpace’s pricing page.

GroupApp’s review and the Alexis the Greek post are older still. GroupApp is itself a membership platform, and its 2022 review describes a 3-tier ladder: $29 with a 4% fee, $49 with 3%, and $199 with 1%. The 2021 post calls MemberSpace “a flat $25 per month” and offers a 2-week trial.

Those 2 old reviews still feed Google’s AI Overview for this search. Its “$39 to $49” range is half right, and the “around $199/month” tier at 1% comes from the GroupApp review it cites for that line.

MemberSpace or Squarespace’s own member sites

If your site runs on Squarespace, the Core plan’s own member sites cost less than adding MemberSpace Starter to any current Squarespace plan. That holds at every level of member revenue, counting plan and platform fees.

Plenty of Squarespace sellers reach for MemberSpace to escape Squarespace’s cut. In a March 2024 r/squarespace thread, a seller worried that a member area would “incur a 9% fee on the subscription, which is huge”, and the only reply said: “Memberspace does the same thing as Member Areas, but their plans only take 5%.” The same reply added that Squarespace’s own rate drops on its higher plans.

Both halves of that reply were true, and the second half is now the bigger one. Squarespace’s transaction fees article puts member sites, courses and video pages on their own fee schedule: 7% on Basic, 5% on Core, 1% on Plus and 0% on Advanced, with 9% on older plans that have no Digital Products plan.

At $30,000 a year of member payments, Squarespace Plus with its own member sites costs $888, less than half the $2,016 of Squarespace Basic with MemberSpace Starter added.

SetupPlans a yearCut on $30,000Total
Squarespace Basic + MemberSpace Starter$516$1,500 (5%)$2,016
Squarespace Basic, built-in member site$228$2,100 (7%)$2,328
Squarespace Core, built-in member site$348$1,500 (5%)$1,848
Squarespace Plus, built-in member site$588$300 (1%)$888
Squarespace Advanced, built-in member site$1,188$0 (0%)$1,188

Squarespace’s plan prices are $19, $29, $49 and $99 a month billed yearly, read from its US pricing page, and MemberSpace Starter is counted at $24. Card processing is left out. It is 2.9% plus 30 cents through Stripe or on Squarespace’s Basic and Core plans, and lower on Plus and Advanced with Squarespace Payments, as our Squarespace digital products guide sets out.

Read across the rows and 3 break-even points come out:

  • Core’s own member sites always cost $168 a year less than Basic plus MemberSpace Starter. Both take 5%, and Core’s $348 plan costs less than Basic’s $228 and Starter’s $288 combined.
  • Plus’s own member sites cost less once member payments pass $1,800 a year, and Advanced’s once they pass $13,440. Below those points, Basic plus MemberSpace is the cheaper of the pair.
  • Basic plus MemberSpace beats Basic’s own member sites above $14,400 a year. MemberSpace’s 5% also undercuts the 9% that older Squarespace plans pay, before plan fees.

Squarespace’s own account joined a similar thread in July 2026, started by someone building a site for a friend’s £300 course who was worried about the cut. In its reply on Reddit, it suggested keeping “Squarespace for the site but use a course platform with lower fees for delivery”, with the warning that it means “more setup time and another system to manage.”

So on Squarespace, MemberSpace has to earn its fee through features rather than price. Its features page lists a community forum, search and bookmarks across your content, Google signup, abandoned signup reminders and “cancellation alternatives” that offer a discount to members who try to leave. Check those against what your Squarespace plan already does before you pay for both.

MemberSpace vs MemberPress, Memberful and CartMango

MemberSpace adds members-only pages to a website you already run on almost any builder, which puts it between a WordPress plugin you install yourself and a platform that hosts everything for you.

At $30,000 a year of member payments, before card processing, MemberPress Launch costs $1,669.50 in its first year, MemberSpace Starter $1,788 and Memberful $2,058, while CartMango, which bills members but has no members’ area yet, costs $10.

If what you charge for is a file, a template club or a paid email list rather than a page behind a login, CartMango handles the recurring billing without a cut.

Memberful publishes only a monthly price, $49 a month plus 4.9%, so it goes in at that rate.

MemberPress comes up in Google’s related questions for this search, and the difference is where it runs. MemberPress is a WordPress plugin, so it only works on a WordPress site you host, while MemberSpace installs on Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress and other builders. MemberPress Launch is $199.50 for the first year, renews at $399 and takes a 4.9% fee. Its Growth plan drops the fee to 0% for $349.50 in year 1 and $699 after, which our MemberPress pricing breakdown covers along with the 1-site-per-licence rule.

Memberful is the closest like-for-like. It also works with an existing site, charges $49 a month plus 4.9%, and lets you try it free until you start taking payments.

CartMango is my company, so weigh its row with that in mind.

CartMango has no members’ area and no login-protected pages yet. Course hosting and community are planned for October 2026, on the $30 a year plan. What it does today is bill one-off and subscription payments and deliver files through protected links, with 0% taken from your sales.

Is MemberSpace worth the price?

MemberSpace is worth it when you want members-only pages on a website you already like and your member payments fit its plans. It saves you rebuilding on a platform that hosts everything.

  • Your site is on a builder like Wix, Webflow or Showit and you like it. MemberSpace was built for that case, and the $24 Starter plan is a cheap way to test a membership.
  • Your site is on Squarespace. Run the table above first. On Core or Plus, the built-in member sites are cheaper, so you are paying MemberSpace for its features.
  • Your site is on WordPress. Compare MemberPress, and the other plugins in our MemberPress alternatives roundup, before paying a 5% cut every month.
  • Community is the main thing you sell. A platform built around community may fit better, and our Circle.so pricing breakdown shows what one of those costs.
  • You pass about $30,000 a year in member payments. Move to Growth, or ask about the custom 1% plan.

FAQ

Is MemberSpace free?

No. MemberSpace has no free plan. It offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card needed, then Starter costs $24 a month billed yearly (shown against a crossed-out $39) plus 5% of every member payment. Pages listing a $0 MemberSpace plan, like Capterra’s, do not match MemberSpace’s own pricing page.

Does MemberSpace have a monthly plan?

The pricing page shows no monthly option for Starter, and only a “Pay monthly instead” link under Growth with no price printed. MemberSpace’s May 2026 pricing page listed $49 a month for Starter and $125 for Growth on monthly billing, so ask MemberSpace for the current monthly rate before choosing it.

What is MemberSpace?

MemberSpace is a membership tool that turns pages on a website you already have into members-only content. It works with Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Webflow and other builders, takes payments through your own Stripe account, and adds member logins, pricing plans, a community forum and courses on top of your existing site.

How much does the Squarespace member area cost?

Squarespace charges no separate price for member sites. You pay your plan, $19 to $99 a month billed yearly, plus a cut of each member payment: 7% on Basic, 5% on Core, 1% on Plus and 0% on Advanced. Older plans without a Digital Products plan pay 9%. Card processing comes on top.

What is the difference between MemberSpace and MemberPress?

MemberPress is a WordPress plugin you install on a site you host, while MemberSpace installs on almost any website builder. MemberPress Launch costs $199.50 for the first year, renews at $399 and takes 4.9%. MemberSpace Starter costs $24 a month billed yearly and takes 5%. MemberPress Growth removes the fee entirely, while MemberSpace Growth still takes 2%.

When charging members is all you need

MemberSpace pricing makes the most sense for a members’ area on a site you already love. If what you actually sell is a paid newsletter, a template club or a file people pay for every month, the members’ area is the part you may not need, and the 5% is the part you would stop paying.

CartMango is the checkout I built for that job. It takes one-off and subscription payments on every plan and keeps 0% of each sale, so the only cut left is your card processor’s. It is free until October 2026 and $10 a year after that.
