ThriveCart lifetime deal: $495 base vs $985 reality (2026)

by Welly Mulia - March 16, 2026

The ThriveCart lifetime deal costs $495 as a one-time payment for the base plan. But what “lifetime” actually covers changed in April 2025, and most reviews haven’t caught up.

The ThriveCart lifetime deal isn’t fully lifetime anymore

Every ThriveCart review says the same thing. Pay $495 once, use it forever, no recurring fees.

That was true until April 2025.

ThriveCart replaced the old Pro upgrade (a $195 one-time payment) with Pro+. Pro+ costs $295 per year. The features behind that paywall aren’t minor.

Affiliate management. Sales tax calculation. Dunning. Custom domains. Advanced reporting. Multi-user access. If you’re running an online business with affiliates or selling in the EU, you need Pro+.

ThriveCart’s lifetime deal pricing has changed. Here’s what you actually need to pay now:

  • Standard lifetime license: $495 (one-time)
  • Pro+ upgrade: $295/year (recurring)
  • Learn+ (advanced LMS): $195 (one-time)

Year 1 with everything: ~$985. Year 3: ~$1,575. That’s a real investment when you’re told upfront it’s a “one-time” price.

The $495 lifetime deal is real. But calling the full ThriveCart experience a “lifetime deal” is a stretch when $295 of it renews every year. Most review articles still reference the old Pro pricing or skip the annual costs entirely.

On Trustpilot, multiple users describe buying the deal, then discovering features like tax compliance locked behind an extra annual cost. One reviewer put it bluntly: “basic features like tax deduction are hidden behind another pay-gate… 350 dollars per year. Not for life.”

What $495 actually gets you

The base plan is solid for what it covers. ThriveCart gives you:

  • High-converting checkout pages
  • Upsells and bump offers
  • Downsells and sales funnels
  • A/B testing
  • Embeddable cart widgets and templates
  • Cart abandonment recovery
  • Buy now, pay later support

ThriveCart is designed for selling digital products, online courses, and physical products through one checkout page. Inside ThriveCart, you can drag and drop checkout templates and connect tools like email marketing platforms through integrations. ThriveCart makes it simple to set up a checkout page and start selling.

Payment goes through your own Stripe or PayPal. Credit card processing, direct payouts, no ThriveCart transaction fees. You also get free or paid trials for billing, coupon codes, and automation for abandoned carts. ThriveCart lets you use it as shopping cart software without adding anything to your tech stack beyond what comes in the box.

ThriveCart Learn comes included with the standard lifetime plan. You can build and sell a collection of courses with modules and lessons. ThriveCart allows you to create membership areas and manage simple course delivery. Not a full online course platform, but it works for the basics.

What you don’t get at this tier: affiliate tools, sales tax features, custom domain on your checkout, or dunning for failed payments.

What’s locked behind Pro+ and Learn+

If you’re a course creator who wants to promote your products through affiliate links, you need to pay for Pro+. That’s $295 per year.

ThriveCart Pro allows you to run an affiliate program and set up JV contracts. Affiliates can earn a small commission on each sale and promote your products with tracking links. You also get custom domains on your checkout page and detailed metrics. These are the advanced features like multiple order bumps, tax inclusive pricing, and funnel comparisons.

Then there’s Learn+. The plus version costs $195 (one-time, at least). It adds gated content, student tagging, bonus delivery, bundle packaging, and multiple access levels. If you want to create and sell courses with real structure, the upgrade to Learn Plus is close to a requirement.

The standard and pro split means ThriveCart offers two very different products. ThriveCart features like upsells and downsells come with the base plan. But affiliate tools and reporting sit behind annual billing. If you want to sell digital products and manage affiliates from one ThriveCart account, you’re looking at the full cost.

2 things worth knowing before you buy

These two points rarely come up in ThriveCart reviews, but they matter if you’re selling digital products.

No download protection. If you sell ebooks, templates, or any downloadable digital product through ThriveCart, your download links are not protected. Customers can share them freely. Anyone with the link can download your product without paying.

Support quality has a pattern. ThriveCart has a 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 450+ reviews. The positive reviews are mostly about the product itself.

The negative reviews tell a different story. Bugs sending wrong bills to customers 20+ times per month. Checkout fields self-deleting. Refund requests delayed by scripted troubleshooting emails.

A long-time user who had promoted ThriveCart as an affiliate since 2018 wrote in September 2025: “I was so happy to have bought lifetime access… Now I’m looking for something else.”

Alternatives worth comparing

SamCart starts at $79/month. It includes affiliate tools and advanced reporting at the base price, which ThriveCart locks behind Pro+. Some call it the best shopping cart for creators who want to sell without worrying about add-on costs. One thing to know: if you leave SamCart, you lose your recurring payments. Even when connected to your own Stripe or PayPal.

I’m the founder of CartMango, so take this with that context. CartMango is free during the beta period (until 2027), then $9.99 per year. It includes checkout, upsell and downsell funnels, order bumps, and download protection at the base level. You keep your recurring payments if you leave. Affiliate management is coming soon but not available yet.

Picking the right shopping cart comes down to what you need. For basic checkout with funnels, ThriveCart’s $495 base is a fair one time payment. If you need built-in affiliate tools from day one, SamCart includes them at every tier. If you want the lowest cost with download protection and no platform fees, CartMango covers that.

Is the ThriveCart lifetime deal worth it

Is ThriveCart worth it? Get ThriveCart if you only need checkout pages, basic sales funnels, and simple course hosting. The $495 base plan covers all of that, and you can use ThriveCart indefinitely with no extra cost. ThriveCart helps if your needs are simple and you want to grow your online business and increase revenue without monthly bills.

If you need affiliate tools, factor in the $295 per year for Pro+. That’s reasonable for a full affiliate program, but it does change the math on what “lifetime” costs you long-term. And if you sell downloadable products, keep in mind that ThriveCart doesn’t protect your download links.

The ThriveCart lifetime deal is worth it for a specific type of seller. Verify you’re that type before you pay once and use it. Upgrading to ThriveCart Pro+ later adds real cost, so map out which features you’ll need before buying the base plan alone.

CartMango is free until 2027, then $9.99 per year. If ThriveCart’s add-on costs give you pause, it’s worth a look.
